Growing plants at home can be fun, challenging, and rewarding. It can radically reduce the cost of your food and the food tastes better and you know it has not been sprayed with chemicals.

Growing your own plants is a great outdoor exercise. Planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting add purposeful physical activity to your day. If you have kids, they can join in, too. To produce greenhouse crops sow the seeds between February and April – grow in large pots, boarders or growing bags.

To produce outdoor crops begin by sowing the seeds under glass in April. The plants can then be transplanted outdoors to a warm sunny area.
